A proposed 2nd storey addition to an existing turn of the century bowling alley. Barrier free units comprise 10% of the residential units and are placed in close proximity to the entrance lobby. An oversized common room adjacent to a laundry facility comprise the core of the building, surrounded by residential units facing the perimeter walls. A large rear south facing yard will allow for exterior events and gatherings. The design attempts to maintain the original building, while setting back the second floor addition subordinate to the masonry base. The contemporary entrance is both inviting and light.
